Verra

In July 2022, the technical lead of Amazon Inc's carbon reduction strategy announced that the company is "pushing for a new brand of carbon credits it hopes will instill more public confidence in the carbon offset it knows will be necessary to reach its 2040 net-zero goal."[1]

This announcement was made jointly with Verra, the largest issuer of credits on the global voluntary carbon market. Verra's carbon credits are measured in terms of VCU's (Verified Carbon Units), which is initiating the process of creating this new Verra brand, the "ABACUS" VCU.
