The Dilbit Disaster, also known as 'The Kalamazoo River disaster' of July 25, 2010, is considered one of the worst oil spill disasters in U.S. history after the 1991 spill in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Enbridge's Line 6B transports diluted bitumen (dilbit) and heavy crude oil from Canada's Athabasca oil sands.
