The Competitive Enterprise Institute is known for describing climate change as a myth. In May of 2006, they ran advertisements advocating the catch-phrase ‘Carbon dioxide: They call it pollution. We call it life’ [1]

In 2003, the CEI published a 23-page article written by its president, Fred L. Smith Jr., opposing the "collectivist vision" of Eco-Socialism because it requires nothing less than a “wrenching transformation of civilization."[2]
